Indianapolis-based home renovations company opens handyman division
SGR Handyman Division designed as one-stop shopping for busy homeowners
Service utilizes central Indiana tradesmen and companies
INDIANAPOLIS—Jan. 15, 2009—Steve Gray Renovations, one of Indiana’s fastest growing high-end remodeling companies, announces today it is launching a new service for area homeowners—SGR Handyman Division. The service is designed to complement the company’s existing project portfolio, which includes full-home remodeling as well as remodeling kitchens, baths, basements, landscaping, exterior improvements and more.
“This new service is something our customers have asked for over the years. When we’re on-site working a job, or we complete a job, homeowners often ask for quick fixes around the house. Makes sense since our customers strive to keep their homes in like-new condition,” says Steve Gray, owner of the renovation company and its handyman division. “The Handyman Division is for them, but also open to any homeowner looking around their house feeling overwhelmed by the fixes they see that need to be done.”
Gray and his team will work with homeowners to establish a punch list—that list of tasks or to-do items around the home.Requested services can range fromelectrical to plumbing to painting and even general upkeep involving doors, windows and flooring. Gray and his team will partner with the same central Indiana skilled craftsmen used on larger home renovation projects for the customer’s handyman needs. Gray’s team will then coordinate schedules to have work completed in one or two visits, instead of multiple visits that would be required if tradesmen came on separate days.
Interested in learning more about the service? Email the company at info@sgrhandyman.com. In return you'll receive a punch-list notepad to start a list of tasks and to-do items needed around the house.

The most common winter damage for concrete driveways is scaling, which is caused by cycles of freezing and thawing caused by salt and or deicers.
Water is absorbed into the fine cracks of the concrete drive, almost like a sponge. When water freezes it expands below the surface. The expansion will cause small flakes of concrete to come loose from the surface.
The use of a good quality sealant will protect the concrete against moisture and salt penetration while still allowing it to breath. The product should be clear (invisible) after it has dried, combat algae and fungus growth, and provide freeze-thaw stability.
The use of a good quality waterproofing sealant before the damage occurs will save you a lot of money.
Here are 3 tips that will ensure that you won’t damage your driveway and will keep your concrete drive in tip top shape:
Avoid Using Deicers the First Year - Concrete continues to gain strength. While some deicers, such as salt, do not chemically react with the concrete, they increase the number of freeze/thaw cycles the concrete must go through. This has the potential of damaging the concrete until it has reached its maximum strength.
Use Caution with Deicers - While concrete is the most durable product available for your home, proper care is a requirement for long-lasting beauty and wear. The use of deicing chemicals can be detrimental to a new concrete surface
Magnesium chloride, such as Ice Melt - It doesn't leave a powdery residue, and it's considered safer for humans, animals and vegetation.
